If you joined us yesterday, we began a series called "When a Nation Forgets God". We started by looking at the drift that happens in one generation and how it effects generations to come. The generation which drifted in Judges 2 was the generation who watched Jericho's walls come down and the Sun stand still. But they drifted and it cost the next generation dearly.
We continue to lose generation after generation. The statistics tell us at the population grows the church attendance stays the same or declines. We are seeing more and more people who are far from God. Over my 17 years of ministry here in Indianola we have tried to turn the tide. We have tried to find ways to reach people for Christ who are far from Him. What I find interesting is the generation who should be weeping over their children and grandchildren who are far from God don't seem to care. When new things are tried they just get mad because we aren't singing the same songs we have always sung. There seems to be no room to try to reach out. This is so surprising because it is their children and grandchildren who are far from God. I just watched it recently as a great grandchild came while her great grandparents are upset about change to reach people. This should not happen. We must remember we are losing generation and generation. People are far from God. We must reach them. We must find ways to reach them. We must recognize we are losing generations and they are our children!!
